Jacob Reese Thornton

Jacob & The Dazey Chain is the vision of Jacob Reese Thornton, a prolific young songwriter, singer and guitarist, who brings a depth to his music that exceeds his years. Jacob draws inspiration from his early influences (Oasis, Fleetwood Mac, R.E.M), bringing a hybrid of Britpop Rock and Americana to his music.  In late 2020, Jacob & The Dazey Chain recorded two songs, “Traces” and the title track that were included in the recently released debut EP (Sept. ’21) “The Sky Is All I Need To Get High” with Grammy-nominated artist/producer Bill Reynolds of Band of Horses at his Fleetwood Shack studios in Nashville. Both songs were written and arranged by Jacob, and featured Rami Jaffee from the Foo Fighters on B3 and keyboards and Bill Reynolds on bass. Jacob is eager to share his musical process on the creation of his debut EP: “I like to play the field a bit and seek out different musicians I respect and admire, and work together on projects that create a synergy of sound. That is what the Dazey Chain means to me – a collection of creative musical synergies.”  JACOB’s guitar and vocal skills are not new to those who have seen him perform at Eric Clapton’s 2019 Crossroads Guitar Festival.  He has also played on stage with Bruce Kulick (Kiss & Grand Funk Railroad) and Todd Kerns and Brent Fitz (from Slash & The Conspirators). In addition, he’s collaborated with bass legend Tony Franklin (The Firm, Jimmy Page & Paul Rodgers) on a searing cover of "I Can See For Miles" by The Who.

JACOB AND THE DAZEY CHAIN is a three-time winner in Classic Rock Magazine’s “New Tracks of the Week” reader’s poll and his recent debut EP entered Amazon’s Top 25 best selling, new alternative rock releases. The EP’s lead single “Traces” entered the top 20 Play MPE downloads across all AAA/Rock specialty stations and Top 10 (#9) streaming charts and receives regular play on Little Steven’s Underground Garage on SiriusXM with Los Angeles DJ Rodney Bingenheimer.

“Jacob & The Dazey Chain represent Tasteful, Artistic Nostalgia. Young taste-maker Jacob Thornton, the talented and prolific rockstar-on-the rise who has one hand reaching toward the 2020’s and the other holding on tightly to the 1970’s.”
