I just recently purchased my third Taylor guitar -- the
NS72ce -- and I love it. I have wanted
to purchase a nylon-string for some time but could not bring myself to buy a good one because
I just couldn't find one I liked well enough to justify the price. My wife said when I called
her (after purchasing the NS72ce) I was giggling with glee. I just couldn't believe how good it
sounded and played.
I also own a
514ce and
515c. The 515c has an interesting story. I first played one at a shop
here in Houston in 1993. I didn't have the money to buy it, so I kept going back for many
months to play it. When I finally had the money, I went into the shop and the owner informed
me that he had sold it the week before. I was so disappointed. I called your company only to
be told that you had only made about fifty 515c's and it would be a two-year wait on custom
orders. In my frustration I asked what store had ordered the most of that model. I was told a
shop in Minnesota called The Podium.
I called them up and asked if they had that model. The owner informed me he had one left but
a fellow by the name of Leo Kottke was in that day playing it and wanted to think about it
before he bought it. I wasn't sure who Leo Kottke was at the time, but I soon found out. I
told the storeowner I didn't have to think about it and I wanted it. I gave him my credit
card number and had him ship it.
Now I don't know for a fact that Leo Kottke was in that store trying it out, but I know your
company came out with a Leo Kottke six-string model two years or so later that is very
similar to my guitar. So if I bought that guitar out from under Mr. Kottke, I would say I'm
sorry...but I'm not really...I love that guitar!
I own a music store here in Houston (Tempo School of Music). I play and teach many styles
of music, including Fingerstyle and I have recommended your guitars to many of my
students. Quite a few of them have purchased your instruments. Thanks for making guitars
that have given me many hours of playing pleasure.

ABSOLUTELY PLUCKY
I am the proud owner of a new Taylor Nylon-string rosewood/cedar
(NS72ce) guitar. I must say that this
is the most exciting stringed instrument that I have ever had my hands on. (I also own a Taylor 914c and an 812ce). This
guitar is so comfortable with its small body and slightly wider neck. The action is easy and the combination of
the shorter neck, wider string excursion and Fishman blender electronics make it just absolutely plucky. WOW,
what a kick! I am completely jazzed about this guitar. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
