TONE-DRIPPING GOOD
I had been trying to do my "homework" before making such a large purchase. I couldn't afford to buy such an expensive instrument, and then changed my mind. I had tried out [several other brands], and they all had some great instruments. I also played a 514ce, 712ce, and a 710ce. Then, I played a new 25th Anniversary 710-BCE at Larry Morgan Music, in Garland Texas. I played it for 10 minutes, and I bought it!

Larry and his technician set up the action perfectly, and gave me some tips on maintenance. I also bought a humidifier for the guitar, which I use all the time, and check for dryness each day. I absolutely love this instrument. It literally drips tone. And even I find it relatively easy to play (compared to my electric). I also find that it is easy to play fingerstyle on this axe. It has so much volume that I don't have to pick as hard with my right hand fingers.

Even so (to quote the Beatles), "I've got blisters on my fingers!" from playing my new guitar so much. I also was pleased to receive the video showing Taylor's new neck-joint method [Taylor On Guitars: New Neck Designs]. I am an extremely happy and grateful customer. Thanks for making such a wonderful guitar.

THE WRIGHT STUFF
Having been a guitarist for most of my 42 years, I have "played them all," including many vintage instruments. My new 714-BCE 25th Anniversary Commemorative Model with Brazilian rosewood sides and back is the best-sounding guitar I have ever played. My vintage [other brand] sounds great, but when I want a tonally balanced, elegant sound, with great projection, my Taylor fits the bill. The first time I played it for my instructor (who is a studio musician) his only comment was, "Wow!" He just had to play it, and immediately grabbed it. He said that he had always heard good things about Taylor, but had no idea that one would sound this good. I also just purchased a Baby-M to take on the road. Keep up the good work, Taylor, you are blowing away the competition!

SWITCH HITTER SCORES
On October 28, I stopped into the Guitar Center on Westheimer, in Houston, to browse around and look at some acoustic guitars. I've been playing for 20 years, and have owned numerous acoustics and electrics, but I've never owned that "high-end", definitive acoustic guitar that I could keep and play for good. One of the thoughts in the back of my mind that day was to sit and play some [other brand] guitars, because I've never owned one and had dreamed that one day I would, as I perceived them to be the "Cadillac" of acoustic guitars.

I tried every [other brand] in stock, and was thinking hard about buying one of them that day, when I decided to try some Taylors. I'd never played a Taylor, but had noticed a lot of well-known musicians playing them on TV, etc. Well, my dream of owning a [other brand] will have to wait, because I purchased a beautiful Taylor 25th Anniversary 714-BCE, instead! Its tone and response are exceptional, and perfect for the fingerpicking style I use. None of the [other brand] sounded as good as this Taylor.

Thanks for producing such an exceptional guitar, and for such an informative, well-designed website. I would encourage any prospective acoustic guitar buyer to browse around in it.

NECKING PLEASES CUSTOMER
I really appreciate the effort your company puts into the manufacture of a truly great guitar. I purchased a 420-K in 1996, and I really love that guitar. In '98 I called your repair and service department to inquire about the cost of replacing the neck with a wider neck (1-7/8) and changing the inlay to the 600 Series pattern. Your staff ordered the neck for me and in two weeks called to let me know that I could drop the guitar off, and when I would be able to pick it up. I was really surprised when I got the call that my guitar was ready much sooner than that. It just shows how your staff goes above and beyond to satisfy the customer (by the way, the guitar turned out great, and I have a truly "custom" guitar for a very reasonable price).

I have since purchased a 555, and have on order a 25th anniversary 714-BCE. It is your commitment to producing a great instrument, your effort to satisfy the customer, and a truly great staff that has made Taylor Guitars an industry-wide and household name. It's no wonder that you have so many repeat buys from your customers. I'm a satisfied customer.
