Model 712

DECADE #6
I want to thank you for repairing my Taylor 510 so promptly. I will now appreciate how sensitive they are to lack of humidity. I am enjoying my new 712ce. I'm playing Hawaiian Slack Key tunings on it. I may bring it to you this fall to lower the action a tad. I play the 712ce in a ladies bluegrass band. I really want to try your NS Series, too, as I've played classical [guitar] for 50 years...and have just recently gotten into [steel-string] acoustics! I hope to visit your factory again this fall. Aloha nui Loa.

TONE-DRIPPING GOOD
I had been trying to do my "homework" before making such a large purchase. I couldn't afford to buy such an expensive instrument, and then changed my mind. I had tried out [several other brands], and they all had some great instruments. I also played a 514ce, 712ce, and a 710ce. Then, I played a new 25th Anniversary 710-BCE at Larry Morgan Music, in Garland Texas. I played it for 10 minutes, and I bought it!

Larry and his technician set up the action perfectly, and gave me some tips on maintenance. I also bought a humidifier for the guitar, which I use all the time, and check for dryness each day. I absolutely love this instrument. It literally drips tone. And even I find it relatively easy to play (compared to my electric). I also find that it is easy to play fingerstyle on this axe. It has so much volume that I don't have to pick as hard with my right hand fingers.

Even so (to quote the Beatles), "I've got blisters on my fingers!" from playing my new guitar so much. I also was pleased to receive the video showing Taylor's new neck-joint method [Taylor On Guitars: New Neck Designs]. I am an extremely happy and grateful customer. Thanks for making such a wonderful guitar.

BY DESIGN
Many thanks for the catalog and video. The video was particularly interesting; in fact, a colleague of mine has used it to illustrate for a class of Design Technology students how long-standing design faults can be overcome by understanding the problem and innovating design.

I have had my Taylor 712 for over two years now. It was a special birthday present, although the present turned out to be far more special than the birthday! My next purchase will be a Baby Taylor, which I hope to buy in San Francisco when I make a short stopover there next year, following a ski holiday to Heavenly. Can't wait! In the meantime, thanks again, and keep up the excellent work.

OBERJOYED
I love your guitars, and I don't even play, at least not yet. I bought a 712 three years ago, and I marvel at its beauty and am amazed at the sound that occasionally is emitted during my awkward attempts to make music. I pick it up every couple of months in the hope of extending what little I have mastered. Thank God for your newsletter [Wood&Steel, see "The Company" column on the Taylor News page of this website] - it keeps me motivated.
