HEY HEY, IT'S MY TAYLOR
I was watching a Fourth of July morning show from Hawaii, and it appeared that Mickey Dolenz (The Monkees) put away his
drumsticks and was playing a Taylor 310ce and singing that Neil Diamond favorite, "I'm a Believer" [with Monkees' guitarist
Peter Tork].

SIGHTS SET ON SUPREME SOUND
My name is Taylor, and I have been playing guitar for about a year and a half, and am now playing for my church. I live near Memphis,
Tennessee, and I took a trip to Nashville to buy a guitar as a long-term investment. I heard a Taylor once and thought it
was the most beautiful-sounding and -looking guitar I had ever seen. I set my sights on owning one, although I really
never thought I would, because of the price range.
I was very pleased once I played a Taylor, and I could not believe the difference in sound between it and the
[other brand] I played! It was like night and day. Well, thanks to my Dad (who decided to get me a nice guitar), I hope
to order a 310ce soon from that store, and cannot wait to play it! Maybe I'll also get a limited edition someday! Thank you for producing a guitar that has been carefully constructed and presented. I will always be a fan of Taylor guitars for their supreme sound and playability.

310 TONE
Your website is a wealth of knowledge. I am impressed at the sense of urgency you have shown to my e-mail requests
(the '99 catalog arrived in three days, the "new neck" video in two days). By the way, the video is excellent. I have
over 25 years manufacturing/tooling experience, so I know what "close tolerance" means to the quality of your guitars.
The new neck design is something to brag about (maybe in the 2000 catalog?).
Now for the most exciting part. I just bought a new 310-CE. The action (due to the neck design, I'm sure), the fit and
finish, the beauty of the wood grain, even the smell of this fine instrument, are all superb. But the tone, the tone,
the tone. Need I say more? Playing this guitar is a joy. I noticed a marked improvement in my playing right away ¾ due
to the lower, faster action I'm sure ¾ but my improvement continues with time. It sounds better, so I practice more,
which in turn causes me to play better.
When I decided to buy a new guitar, I made a list of "must have" features: ebony fretboard, cutaway, solid wood, rich
tone, and a pick-up. I wasn't locked-in on a brand name, but I was leaning toward [other brand]. The day I decided on a
310-CE, I played [various other brands], five or six Taylor models, and my old [other brand] (for reference). The ones
I liked, I then played plugged in.
My first choice was the 310-CE. Very close second choice was the 510-CE (may have been number-one if it had come with
Elixirs). By the way, only one [other brand] made it to the amplifier. I must admit, it sounded almost as good as some
of the Taylors I played that day, but the price was excessive and why buy "almost as good," even if it's a popular
brand?
If you continue to provide the excellent products and service you have demonstrated to me, I believe your brand will
soon surpass the others. It already has among the Christian musicians I play with. Come to think of it, of the 20 or
so guitar players in our fellowship, I've only seen one [other brand,] but at least seven or eight Taylors.

"JUST" A 310-CE?
I really like your website. But more than that, I love my Taylor guitar. I have played [several other guitar brands],
but until I picked up and played a Taylor, I had no idea. I just have the 310-CE, but it still out-played the others.
Love it!

"COME BACK, SHANE!"
I'm letting you guys know that even though I am not yet a "Taylor owner", I am more than impressed with your service. I have been looking at several guitars, including
[other brands]. I have played [another brand] for a very long time, and have been very satisfied with their product. I even owned a [different brand] that I enjoyed very much.
Today, I went to my local Taylor dealer and tried out the 310-CE and the 314-CE, and to say that I was impressed would be an understatement. The quality of your product,
combined with the friendly and speedy responses to nothing more than an e-mail from someone who doesn't even own one of your guitars yet, has been enough to satisfy me
that you are a top-notch company that keeps your customers in mind. Thanks to you, my decision has been made easy. As soon as I can, I am going to buy that 310-CE or 314-CE.
Thank you for your responses and your kindness. I think that you guys make an incredible product, and I look forward to owning one of these guitars.

TAYLOR-MADE IN THE USA
I just purchased a 310-CE for my son, who wants to learn how to play the guitar. I know it was a little extravagant to buy him a Taylor instead of a less-expensive
"import" or some other brand. But in the long run, it will be well worth it because: 1) his playing satisfaction will be greater (more practice, better player); and 2)
I know that buying him a Taylor is like buying him an heirloom. I'm sure that the guitar's value (and sound) will only be enhanced by time.
I was first turned on to Taylor by a country songwriter, Jim Rushing (wrote Garth Brooks' "Honky Tonk Bar Association", Ricky Skaggs' "Cajun Moon", and the Kendalls'
"Pittsburgh Stealer", among others). As a first-class musician, I trusted Jim's recommendation, and am not sorry I did. It's a great sounding instrument. I also own
[another brand], a wonderful instrument with a different tonal quality from the Taylor. Your product is in every quality-sense as good or better than that one. It's
good to see that quality products are still made in the U.S.A. Keep up the good work!

RAPPID RESPONSE
I e-mailed Taylor a couple of times with some questions about your 300 and 400 Series guitars and various electronics options. At the time, I was
trying to decide between Taylor and [several other high-end brands]. Steve Rapp's immediate and personable response told me volumes about Taylor!
In contrast, it took a week to get an abbreviated response from [another guitar maker] and an additional 10 days to receive their literature. Enough
said.
After repeated trips to local music stores to look at and play the three remaining candidates, it became clear that I really "wanted" a Taylor.
The issue then became price. Although the others' base-model guitars were marginally less expensive, they didn't feel or sound as good as your guitars.
I then went to the Dallas Guitar Show, my "guns loaded" with all the research I had done. I had the opportunity to compare a variety of brands,
styles, and models, while talking to various dealers from all over the country. Every, and I mean every person I talked to about your guitars had
nothing but positive things to say about your product and your customer service, including a dealer I have done business with in the past who doesn't
even sell your guitars!
The more I compared, the more I wanted a Taylor. It got so that I'd walk right by the other brands if I could see a Taylor in the distance. I
walked away with a 310-CE, and I have absolutely no buyer's remorse. I have played my Taylor every day since. In fact, every time I play it I am
more convinced that I made the right decision. My enthusiasm is not from having a "new toy", but is based on an increasing appreciation for the
instrument.
Your 300 Series guitars are exactly what a base-model guitar should be, with just the right amount of appointments and the same level of
construction and craftsmanship as your higher-end models. I am a very satisfied first-time Taylor owner, and am looking forward to playing it
for years to come. Thanks to Steve for his input. He is one of the reasons I am so impressed with Taylor Guitars.

SHOCK ROCKER
Thank you for making the 310-CE. I have been playing guitar since 1959. I learned guitar from Richie Miller, who later
became Johnny Rivers' lead guitarist. Anyway, I was lucky enough and good enough to play with him, as well as with some pretty good Chicago bands through
high school. At one time, I played with a band that toured with Tommy James and the Shondells ["Crimson and Clover"]. We also opened for the McCoys
["Hang On Sloopy"] at the Whiskey A-Go-Go in St. Louis.
Over time, I have put together an excellent guitar collection, but I had never purchased a Taylor until today. I must say that the 310-CE
shocked me! It sounds and plays like a guitar that should cost twice as much. It plays louder and clearer than my [other brand], which did cost
twice as much!
The 310-CE is a beautiful piece of work. It is a wonderful example of there still being people and companies who
care about the type of guitars they build. You should be very proud of the luthiers at your company; they know how to build real guitars, which seems
to be a lost art in today's business climate. Thank you again for building such a beautiful instrument.

310 AND A BABY
I wanted to share with you a picture of my "Baby" Taylor. OK, maybe that's misleading. First came my beautiful baby
girl (Emily). Next came my terrific Taylor 310-CE a week later on my birthday. As wonderful and enjoyable it is, as you
can imagine, Emily still gets most of the attention.
I've been playing guitar for one year and began playing on an inexpensive instrument with the intention to "step up" to a quality guitar when I had a
better idea of what I wanted. I was test playing another manufacturer's guitars, but the finely crafted Taylor guitars displayed nearby kept catching
my eye because of their appearance alone. I picked up the 310-CE and tried it out. Wow was I hooked!
I told the great folks at Bigham Discount Music in Dalton, GA, that someday I'd walk in and buy that guitar. Fortunately, they didn't mind me
coming in once every week or so and playing it over the next few months. Every once in a while they'd ask "Is today the day?" and, with
some dejection, I'd have to say, "No, but don't give up on me."
Fortunately, no one else bought "my" Taylor and I was able to bring it home last month. I am thrilled with this guitar: it
looks great and sounds even better. My instructor, who owns several high-quality acoustic guitars, played it and commented that it
played even better than his custom [other brand].
Thank you for the great customer service your company provides. It all begins with a quality product backed up by a lifetime guarantee,
but you do a terrific job of providing information about Taylor Guitars to those who own one and those who want to own one. Also, my 5-year-old
son Taylor thinks it's pretty cool that my guitar and case came with his name on them. Keep up the excellent work. I know I have a lifetime of
enjoyment ahead in my baby and my Taylor.

MR. SMITH GOES TO MUHLENBERG
I must say that I'm spoiled by my two Taylor 310-CE guitars. These are probably the finest instruments I've ever played. Some of my friends
have more expensive Taylors and are envious of the tone I get with the 310-CE. I have my sights set toward owning a 514-CE
some day, but for now I'm happy.
Julian Smith Bowdon, Georgia
[Ed. note: In August 1998, Julian Smith won both the "International Thumbpicking" and "Open Class" categories of the Home of the Legends guitar competition in Muhlenberg
County, Kentucky. The grand prize for each contest was a Taylor 310-CE.]
TAYLOR TRILOGY
Well, it happened. I got all the information that you promised to send me within three days of the
my e-mail. The efficiency of your company is amazing and appreciated. So, the catalog. I sort of skipped over the 300 Series, because I knew what
was coming at the end - the beautiful Koas and the most beautiful of them all, in my humble opinion, the PS-14. Wow. Amazing, and I bet it
plays as nice as it looks.
After a week of drooling over the catalog, my high school graduation came along. All I got from my parents was a card. Actually two taped
together. I was hoping for a new amp for my electric (Fender Strat Custom Shop), but no such luck. Only two stinking cards. Maybe it's money.
I opened the first, "We're so proud...blah blah blah..." Sweet. Then the second. Inside, I saw a picture of a man walking into the sunset,
with a guitar case in his hand and a sign above him saying,"Taylor" On the bottom was the number 310-CE. The Dreadnought
Cutaway with Fishman Electronics.
OK. I had skipped over them in the catalog for a reason, or so I thought. My dad walked out with the guitar in his hand, Taylor hardshell
case and everything. I wasn't expecting it to sound as good as Taylor Dwyer's 510, the first Taylor I ever played, but
when I hit that big old open E chord, I started crying. It was exactly everything I have ever wanted in a guitar. So what, I was crying at my
party in front of 40 people who know me well and I didn't even care. I played it for 2-1/2 hours before my dad told me I had to come out and be
sociable. Anyway, sorry for the long story, but I am perfectly pleased with everything. Thank you.
P.S. My girlfriend, one of my best friends, and my guitar are all named Taylor. Coincidence? I think not.
