Dynamic Body Sensors
A magnetic assembly translates the motion of the guitar top into an electrical signal. Optimized placement of the Taylor ES sensors eliminates phase problems that can cause feedback when volume is high.
Dynamic String Sensors
This sensor is located beneath the fretboard. In concert with the dynamic body sensors,
the dynamic string sensor is engineered to add balanced string input to the system's
overall voicing.
Pre-Amp
The tone controls allow you to discover a range of true acoustic expression without adding noise. When the controls are set flat, the tone from the sensors is not colored in any way. For 2007, players also have the ability to turn off one or both body sensors and rely on the neck pickup. This gives the player the ability to voice their guitar to suit the performance environment. An on/off switch for each body sensor is easily accessible on the preamp circuit board inside the soundhole, so a player can make adjustments on the fly.
Power Supply
The Taylor ES power supply is housed in a compartment that seamlessly integrates into the guitar for an elegant, unobtrusive solution. The ES was first designed to run on two AA batteries, and starting in 2007, switched to a 9-volt battery power source.
